Well I am pretty certain I am not adding any more tonight so feel safe to post this score sheet as the sun goes down.
To keep the enthusiasm up while awaiting the summer migrants the challenge was to get as many species up to 25 tetrads. As you can see from the pic there are no real surprises, though I feel Common Gull and Black-headed Gull have let the side down with two tetrads each still to go. Starling is also a surprise but with its decline in the Garden Birdwatch it is not the bird it was.
Two 50 species tetrads reflect the varied habitat around Watergate Park (f) and Gosforth Flash (p). Both these squares have added a species each which were not in the original plans, Jack Snipe and female Stonechat respectively. Apart from these and @Joe_Dobinson 3 Bar-tailed Godwit which will take some beating it has been a low key winter. This means there is still time to enter this two horse race (well only two are admitting to keeping a score). However, if you leave it til the end of April I think you will by then have missed birds you won’t get back.
